52% Increase in Cyber Attacks on UK Businesses in The Second Quarter of 2017

UK businesses are being warned to protect their confidential business data after more than half as many cyber attacks took place in the second quarter of 2017 compared to the first.

A recent report conducted by Beaming identified that there have been more than half as many cyber attacks in Q2 2017 compared to that of the first three months of the year. Businesses saw almost 65,000 attacks in the three month period; a dramatic increase of 52%.

More than two thirds of the attacks targeted connected devices, and there was a significant increase in the number of company databases targeted; from 14 in Q1 to 105 in Q2 of 2017.

With this serious increase in the overall number of cyber attacks, UK businesses are advised to protect themselves with cyber liability insurance. For a free cyber insurance quote, contact Cyberguru today.
